…and before you get excited, no, I am not switching teams.\u00a0 I am a PC!\u00a0 And maybe<\/strong> I could have waited for the release of the Surface Pro<\/a> (rumored to be Spring 2013) but\u00a0I did not buy the iPad to develop on and I really wanted something somewhat quickly so I would not have to lug around my laptop.\u00a0\u00a0So why did I buy an iPad?<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Much<\/strong> easier and quicker to take notes at\u00a0meetings with Clients (or anywhere else, for that matter)<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lighter and easier to carry than my laptop
\n3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Up-time… unlike my laptop I really get 10 hours of up-time before I have to think about looking\u00a0to charge
\n4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Reading my eMail on something larger then my Phone
\n5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No load time…\u00a0turn it on and it’s ready to go!\u00a0 And<\/strong> with HoursTracker I can start the App in 5 seconds or less!<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Driving directions<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 Comes in handy when I forget my GPS, has a free version… visit their website<\/a><\/p>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0To Do List I can access via eMail<\/p>\n

This is by far the best To Do List App I have used and it’s free<\/strong>!\u00a0\u00a0 I don’t even need to load the App to add items to my list, I just eMail them!\u00a0 And, it’s accessible from my Windows PC\u00a0or my iPhone… visit their website<\/a><\/p>\n

7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Tweet<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 DropBox… giving me access to all my files<\/p>\n

\u00a0 <\/p>\n

9.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Over 275,00, and counting,\u00a0Apps<\/a> for the iPad vs. Windows 8 Apps<\/a><\/p>\n

Now, while\u00a0it is true no one has all 275,000 Apps on their devices what they do have is variety.\u00a0\u00a0The note taking program that works for me may not work for you… and because of the\u00a0vast amount to choose from you are bound to find the perfect one for you!\u00a0 AND the *free* versions work just as well as the *paid* version just with ads…\u00a0 Tha’t right right, *free* does not mean missing or toned down functionality, more like, *try before you buy*.\u00a0 (Not all Apps offer that but most I tried did.)<\/p>\n

10.\u00a0\u00a0 Automatic syncing between my iPhone and iPad for most Apps I use and share between devices, like my calendar.<\/p>\n

AND, of course…<\/p>\n

11.\u00a0\u00a0 Angry Birds… yep, I have them all, great stress reliever!
\n12.\u00a0\u00a0 Words with Friends
\n13.\u00a0\u00a0 Where’s my Water? \u00a0(Okay, this one is for the Grandkids!)<\/p>\n

f. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 g.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 h. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 i. <\/p>\n

Will I get a Surface Pro<\/a> when it comes out?\u00a0 It does have some nice perks, especially the USB port and the microSDXC card\u00a0slot<\/a> built right in… those items could come in handy!\u00a0 But for now, my iPad does what I want, when I want and how I want and what more could one ask for?\u00a0 So, I think I’ll hold out on the Surface Pro<\/a> for now… but who knows, Spring may find me rethinking my choice!<\/p>\n
